  • Each day begins with a quick discussion of the planned itinerary and relevant skills we’ll be working on. Students are broken into groups, roughly along age lines, which rotate through several stations to collaboratively execute the morning’s recipes. Most of these items are then set out for a bountiful lunch for all to enjoy! We are well equipped to modify portions of many of our recipes to accommodate most dietary restrictions*, thus ensuring all students have several items to fuel them through the rest of the day.

After lunch, weather permitting, everyone takes a 45min outdoor break at the school park up Roanoke on Eastlake. This is supervised free time when students can sit quietly and read in the shade, play kickball, or climb on the playground equipment with new friends.

Once we return from the park, it’s right back into cooking for the remainder of the afternoon. Typically, this portion of the day is spent working on the afternoon snack and items that will be part of the take home meal on Thursday.

Please note, because of the other services and classes Blue Ribbon Cooking provides, we do not offer any before or after camp care. Please be prepared to arrive no earlier than 8:50am and pick up no later than 3:10pm each day.

We look forward to seeing you this summer!

*There is a spot on our intake forms to list out any special dietary considerations for your camper. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any gluten intolerant students in our Comprehensive Baking or Tour of Italy camps.

Pre-Camp

Learning to bring your family together with nutritional meals can start at any age. Through hands-on participation, students will be introduced to commonly used kitchen tools and proper kitchen safety. This camp is a great springboard for a lifetime of culinary exploration.

Throughout the day, students will play games designed to expand their food knowledge and exposure as well as help prepare nutritious snacks and their daily lunches.

We are well equipped to modify portions of many of our recipes to accommodate most dietary restrictions, thus ensuring all students have plenty of delicious food to fuel them through the rest of the day. There is a spot on our intake forms to list out any special dietary considerations for your camper.
