We had the joy of being part of this incredible spring fundraiser and gala. As guests stepped into The Seattle Design Center, they were welcomed with delicious passed appetizers and a stunning view of the atrium, featuring vaulted ceilings, abundant natural light, and beautifully curated event décor.

Friends of the Children is an inspiring organization that provides mentorship to local youth, “Impacting generational change by supporting youth facing the greatest life obstacles in our community through relationships with paid professional mentors for 12+ years—no matter what.”

Guests were invited to visit the Sky Bridge at The Seattle Design Center, a stunning glass-enclosed space offering views of the city and the stars above. The Sky Bridge appetizers included an elegant selection of passed bites, including red wine poached pear and gorgonzola mousse crostini with hazelnut dust and micro herbs, smoked salmon cucumber canapés with jalapeño-scallion mascarpone, and modern Caprese tarts featuring tomato jam, basil-marinated fresh mozzarella, and crisp fried prosciutto.

In the main atrium, guests enjoyed a vibrant selection of passed bites, including bulgogi beef lettuce wraps with pickled vegetables and gochujang aioli, miniature citrus-poached white fish tacos with orange olive salsa and chimichurri crema, and modern Caprese tarts with tomato jam, basil-marinated fresh mozzarella, and crisp fried prosciutto.

The beautifully curated dinner menu featured spring greens with seasonal fresh fruit, crumbled gorgonzola, and vanilla-spiced pecans, alongside grilled flat iron steak with brandied fig sauce, herb-crusted chicken breast with roasted grapes, caramelized shallots, and Madeira pan sauce, and cognac flambéed wild mushroom risotto with fresh thyme and Parmesan curls. Accompaniments included roasted garlic buttery mashed potatoes, a Pike Place Market–style grilled vegetable platter finished with fleur de sel, and artisan breads served with herb-infused olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar.
